One might say, we are doing this for one reason but, it’s for two: One, we love our customers and two, so that we can bring great cannabis to market in the city of Detroit.
An Englishman, a shaman and an ex-con walk into a bar …..a true story.
(Names have NOT been changed for the purpose of anonymity)
Our story begins with a trust fund Englishman who loves to waste money on projects like The Hash Bash, an ex-heroin addict turned Shaman, and an award-winning strain developer (Did time, wrongly convicted, overturned. Another story.)
Along the way, this crew introduced a couple of other guys to each other (the main characters of our story).
George went to college in the 80’s, and paid for it by, ahem, "driving" between Brightmoor and Herman Gardens (normal stuff for a kid from the D, right?).
Post-college, George found work in the family business, he’s a third-generation restaurateur. A run of memorable dining and drinking establishments followed: Club Heaven (original house music club, home of the late, great DJ Ken Collier), Agave (Gourmet Mag props! Awards!), and of course, the one, the only, the legendary, AFB (Ok, but only because you asked: Another Fucking Bar).
We could go on, but here’s the thing: George knows a little something about Hospitality (with a capital “H”). He understands the importance of great service, of making people feel welcome, and of exceeding expectations. It’s in his genes (three generations, yo). It’s the definition of what he’s done his entire professional life: Restaurateur means “restoring of souls” (Fact. Look it up).
George brings the passion, service, and attention to detail of “restoring souls” to Luxury Loud.
Marko was born in the 80’s. He’s an engineer (for real), and (genius combination) he’s a serious student of cannabis. He knows his cultivars from his phenotypes, full stop. He’s also a passionate grower, schooled in the botanical and agricultural science required for the cultivation and processing of superior cannabis strains.
Ok. Back to the engineer part. Marko, being an engineer, knew that in order to grow great cannabis, he would need to design a technologically superior facility, complete with leading edge climate control, nutrient management, and lighting. Which he did, because, engineering (and, because, perfectionist-ing).
So, a chance introduction leads to a perfect partnership built for the development and production of an amazing product lineup, and an unforgettable experience when you visit us.
